DESCRIPTION:
French, lyre form marquetry inlayed , 8 day, time and strike, mantel clock, c1880.
CONDITION:
Rosewood veneered and inlayed case in nice as found condition in original finish. The contrast of the inlay to the rosewood veneer is obscured by the dark finish from age and smoke and would be much improved with a proper cleaning. There is small area of veneer missing on the back of case just above the base. Silvered dial has a slight amount of tarnish. Gilding on the bezel is nice and the gilt pendulum is still brilliant.
